The youth play an important role in the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through creativity, energy and determination. We have established a Sustainable Development Solution Network (SDSN) platform aimed to inspire students to channel their talents and passion toward innovative solutions for SDGs. This initiative is particularly vital as global progress toward SDGs has lagged behind considerably. Aligned with UN SDG hubs and SDSN local chapters, the SDSN Club focuses on raising student’s SDG awareness, advocating for innovative solutions, fostering community and global engagement, and actively contributing to the impact on SDGs. Through networking students not only contribute to SDGs but also undergo personal growth, character development and enhance their leadership and communication skills.

Rina, Raya and Yuna - Personal Project Artworks, School Supply Donation Experience (Speech)

1. I selected some artworks from my personal project which relate with some of the UNSDG goals and will be discussing the process of researching about these goals/what I learned from the research, a little insight of the creation of the pieces, and how the symbolic elements of the artwork connect with the UNSDG goal. 2. In our service as action activity we asked for school supply donations from students around our campus and we donated them to the Rugby team SOS Talamban during one of the tournaments that our school hosted. SOS Talamban is not only a rugby team but an orphanage. Most of the students in the orphanage attend public schools that lack supplies to properly teach students. We hope to provide stationery such as notebooks, pens, and pencils to those less fortunate so that they can have sufficient materials when doing school work. Our group also encourages reusable consumption through accepting donations. Students who no longer need their old school supplies can donate them rather than tossing them away.

Annually, the world produces over 60 million tons of coffee waste, generating a massive 20.4 billion cubic meters of methane as they decompose in landfills. This issue can be mitigated with the use of mushrooms being implemented into cafes where the spent coffee grounds are produced. This method not only reduces waste, but also creates a circular economy in which all waste is recycled back as food.
